No, I don't think he should even be the French athlete of the year. I think it might be influenced by him being the first European under 10 in the 100 meters but on an international scale he wasn't even in the top 10 fastest while Teddy Tamgho, French triple jumper, set the indoor world record, became the 3rd farthest jumper outdoors and was rated the top triple jumper in the world. Lemaitre was rated the 10th best 100 meter sprinter.
