Frenchman, Dominique Straus-Kahn was recently made to take one after being accused of sexually assaulting a maid at the upscale Sofitel Hotel in NYC. It's a long standing practice in which a defendant is paraded by the police for the media to take photos of them. However, in a Legal System in which all defendants are considered innocent till proven guilty, it seems a needless humiliation. Especially if the person being made to make one is indeed innocent of charges made against them. In my opinion, anyway.
