Should I just let go?

There's this guy I was seeing, it was going well, a bit fast to be honest 'cus this guy is quite full on, but i found it quite interesting. Problem was he knew my ex and had spoken to my ex about me and thought I was still seeing my ex. Everything blew out of proportion, we had an argument and I haven't spoken to him for nearly 2 months. My ex still wants to get back with me, but though I still care about him, I don't want to be with him. I really like this new guy and was thinking of getting back in touch with him.what do you think?we both have quite a number of similar friends so i'm hoping to bump into him at the next gathering...but that could be a while.should i call him? One more thing, even if things were to work with me and this new guy, I'd feel so bad that i've moved on to my ex's friend. I don't think i'd really be able to feel free with him. should i even go there, or just let go?
